Community Involvement

At South Mesa Veterinary Hospital, we are committed to giving back to our community through the donation of time and services to a variety of charitable organizations, local and national.

Current Events and Causes We Support

Relay for Life:
On June 5th and 6th, staff members of South Mesa Veterinary Hospital and Come, Play, Stay participated in the Fort Collins 2010 Relay for Life to celebrate the lives of loved ones who are battling cancer and remembering those that have passed on. This event raises funds for the American Cancer Society and raises awareness to save lives from cancer. Located at the track at Fort Collins High School, the South Mesa team, “Paws for a Cause”, camped out and took turns walking or running on the track throughout the afternoon, night and that next morning. We were able to raise almost $2,000 our very first year! We are very grateful to our sponsors and honor those cancer survivors whose lives we are celebrating. This year’s theme: “we are creating a world with more birthdays, a world where cancer can’t claim another year of anyone’s life!”

FEMA:
South Mesa Veterinary Hospital has been chosen to provide veterinary services in the northern Colorado/Wyoming area for our FEMA canine search specialists. These amazing dogs have undergone extensive and rigorous training in the search and extrication of victims trapped in collapsed structures. We are honored and proud to provide care to these special canine citizens!
